An introduction to Carmina Burana – where it came from and why 900 year old monks were writing in Medieval Latin!

Here’s the hall you’ll be singing in – it’s big but you’ll be in the safe hands of conductor Benjamin Hamilton and an adult choir – the Hampton Singers, two pianists, five percussionists and 2 professional soloists.

O Fortuna – Remember to keep the energy and excitement and short crisp consonants and 1,2,3, off for the long notes!

Amor Volat Undique – here you’re little Cupids in Cupid’s garden singing short – or staccato – notes which fire at the audience like Cupid’s arrows. Cupid is the god of love – see if you can spot ‘amore’ (love in Latin) in the text.

Tempus Est Locundum – remember starting softly and gradually growing and growing to the three “kvo pear-ray-oh” which grow each time.
